%UDLD-3-UDLD_INTERNAL_ERROR: UDLD internal error: failed to create UDLD process because of null Device ID
The above error message is indicative of a Cisco engineering unit, as opposed to a production unit. Engineering units usually have a sticker on the back that says “Engineering Unit”. They will also fail to give you the “Processor board ID” and “System serial number” (among other things) in a “show ver” and during boot.
